EYR 2011 Success

Following months of planning, the 3-days simply shot by with more than 50 hours of brilliant programmes and some memorable live performances, including a set from singer, song writer and stage performer, Rachel Brett.

If you were involved as part of this fantastic project that once again was recognised with a ‘High Impact’ award as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week – our third - then we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.  If you were not involved this year please contact Tim Sorensen who will be happy to discuss EYR 2012 with you.

The many hundreds of EYR students will have gained all sorts of personal and employability skills during their involvement together with a lifetime memory. We hope that you managed to catch sight of the 8-page supplement that was published in the Eastbourne Herald on 11th November and subsequent articles?

You will not be surprised to learn that the file for EYR 2012 (14th -16th November) is open and that we are already taking school and sponsor bookings.

Apprenticeship to Air on Youth Radio

Eastbourne Youth Radio is delighted to announce new lead sponsors for its 11th annual broadcast in November. Mears Groups and Eastbourne Homes will be sharing the airwaves to help promote apprenticeships in the area.

Following hard on the heels of the very successful ‘100 Apprenticeships in 100 Days’ initiative, this sponsorship recognises the benefits of apprenticeships for both learner and employer. It will also compliment other sponsored contributions from Sussex Downs College and Hotchkiss. Gary Lester, Managing Director at Mears Group, said, “The recent initiative championed by Stephen Lloyd MP had been very successful with many local companies taking an apprentice for the first time. We will be continuing to promote and encourage more to do the same and help develop their own staff too."
